Chamber Referrals – The Chamber office receives about 850 calls a month from visitors, community members and information seekers. With your membership, our staff is able to refer your businesses and/or services to inquiring callers.

Chamber Office – Many visitors to and residents of the Hanover area come to our office looking for creative ways to spend their time in the Upper Valley. Showcase your business by housing your brochure/flyer at the Chamber office for distribution.

HACC Website – In early 2009, HACC will launch its NEW WEBSITE where your membership includes a listing and link to your business as well as the opportunity to create and maintain your own “Member Profile Page” to promote yourself with pictures, testimonials, press releases, calendar events, downloadable coupons and special promotions.

HACC Resource Directory – You get a free listing in the HACC Resource Directory. 7,000 copies of the directory are distributed through HACC events, the Information Booth on the Dartmouth Green, in every visitor and relocation packet and on the counter of many member businesses. The Directory is a staple in numerous recruiting and welcome packets created by many departments at Dartmouth, DHMC and offices and organizations throughout the Upper Valley.

Dartmouth Website – HACC is the exclusive directory the Dartmouth Website. College visitors, alumni, Dartmouth parents, students and prospective students will find your business through a direct link from their “Visiting Dartmouth” web page to the HACC web directory.

Business After Hours – This popular monthly event is hosted by a Member business as a way to gain exposure while providing business to business networking opportunities in a social atmosphere for you and other Chamber members.

Information Booth – Located on the Dartmouth Green from mid-June to mid-September, the Information Booth is visited by an average of 1,400 people a month, looking for things to do, places to see and people to meet. HACC member materials are the exclusive resources for visitors, residents, alumni and prospective students.

GPS Listing for Members
The Chamber's partnership with TomTom will give member location information to GPS users (on TomTom systems from July 2010 and other systems including Google from December 2010.)

Members can submit their news for publication, based on space in, in the bi-monthly Chamber newsletter.

Take this Opportunity – HACC sends out monthly E-Blasts to keep you informed of upcoming opportunities and events that benefit your business.

Newsletter – Members receive a bi-monthly newsletter which provides information about chamber events, programs, and happenings. New members are introduced to the business community and all members are invited to share their expertise by providing a “Top Ten List”.

Advocacy – As a Chamber member, you have a strong voice on local and state issues through the Chamber’s lobbying efforts. From parking and transportation to affordable healthcare and housing, the Chamber is working on issues that affect you, your employees and your business.


Cost Effective Marketing Opportunities

HACC Website Advertising – HACC’s new website offers many opportunities to highlight your business through web advertising. See details in the Web Advertising Brochure.

Mailing List/Label – Whether it’s a special invitation, special announcement or information about your special business, the HACC member list will put your materials in the hands of the people you are trying to reach.

Newsletter Insert Program – Target the segment of the community most involved in business, namely, fellow Chamber members. HACC publishes 6 newsletters a year that are mailed or emailed directly to the businesses with whom you want to become more visible. Your membership allows you the opportunity to reserve a spot for your promotional flyer. This is a popular program and space is limited.

Relocation Subscription – More and more people are realizing what a vibrant area we have and are choosing the Upper Valley as their home. A subscription to the Relocation Subscription Program puts those families who have received relocation information from the Chamber into your database. Be the first business to welcome them to our area.

Visitor/Relocation Packets – HACC sends out visitor/relocation packets on a weekly basis. Your membership provides the opportunity for your business to be among the first that visitors and potential new residents will see. Insert your brochure or flyer in the HACC Visitor/Relocation.

Sponsorship Opportunities – As a way of gaining exposure within the business community, Chamber members have many sponsorship opportunities. Events and programs such The Upper Valley Business Education Series, The Leadership Awards Banquet, The HACC Annual Meeting and Celebration, The Hanover Area Farmers Market, The Annual Golf Tournament and more, offer opportunities to put your business in front of your target audience.

Programs

D’Perks – The Dartmouth College/Dartmouth-Hitchcock employee discount program is managed by the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce. Market your business to more than 8,000 employees on a monthly basis by offering them a special promotion. For more information, see the “D’Perks” flyer.

Concierge Book – HACC Concierge Books have been placed in lodging locations, real estate offices, visitor information desks, the information booth, the Chamber office and a few other ‘welcome’ areas. As a member of the HACC, your materials may be included in the Concierge Books to guide visitors to your business. Books are updated annually.

Upper Valley Business Education Series – These quarterly seminars provide relevant and strategic information, thinking and tools to Upper Valley business leaders who want to improve the health of their businesses and inform themselves about best business practices.

Electricity Buying Group – Because the energy markets today are becoming increasingly volatile and complicated, HACC has developed close working relationships to form a buying group to assure the best price for its New Hampshire members.


Annual Events

January
Annual Meeting – Held in January to celebrate the Chamber’s past year accomplishments, elect its new Board of Directors, unveil plans for the coming year and have some fun.

March
HomeLife Show – HACC, in conjunction with the Greater Lebanon Chamber of Commerce, coordinates an exhibition in Leverone Field House that attracts approximately 14,000 attendees. You are invited, free of charge, to provide your materials to be displayed at the HACC booth.

April
First Year Family Weekend – Dartmouth College invites the families of first year students to campus for a weekend of activities. HACC has an exclusive invitation to promote members. You are encouraged to get your information in front of these families by offering a special Dartmouth College promotion to entice them to visit your business or try your service.

June

Farmers Market June to end September - Open Wednesdays, 3pm to 6pm, on the Green in Downtown Hanover, where collaboration sustains our community.

Local Wednesdays - Every Wednesday from June 2-September 29 participating businesses in the area will be offering discounts, promotions, refreshments, and even a scavenger hunt to thank their loyal customers.


July
StreetFest – This annual event is a big attraction for community members from Hanover and the surrounding areas. You are invited to participate in the Chamber booth by providing a raffle item, poster promoting your event or business and/or offering a special StreetFest coupon to be given to all visitors that stop by the Chamber booth.

Sophomore Family Weekend – Dartmouth College invites the families of sophomore students to campus for a weekend of activities. HACC has an exclusive invitation to promote members. You are encouraged to get your information in front of these families by offering a special Dartmouth College promotion to entice them to visit your business or try your service.

August
Golf Tournament – Pure Fun! With its unique format, the Chamber Golf Tournament has become the perfect event for businesses to round out their summer. Held in August, the HACC Golf Tournament offers an opportunity for business leaders to network in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

September
Dartmouth Student Move In Day – HACC has an exclusive invitation to welcome students to campus with a table full of member coupons, discounts and promotions during the Dartmouth Student Move-In Day. You are encouraged to get your information in front of these families.

November
Leadership Awards Banquet – This annual event is a celebration to honor individuals and businesses for outstanding achievement, leadership and innovation.

December
Celebrate the Season – The first Friday evening in December, Hanover comes alive with sounds of the season. Downtown businesses welcome patrons with refreshments and special holiday deals. Musical groups entertain visitors while a horse drawn wagon carries families around town and “elves” parade the sidewalks singing and handing out candy canes. Of course, the night would not be complete without a visit from Santa. You are invited to join us and enjoy the spirit of the holiday.
